New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat first. The Mandatory powerplay (first 6 overs) gone tremendous as they didn't lose a single wicket at 58. At 61 New Zealand lost first wicket in form of Martin Guptill on the first ball of 8th over by Faulkner.

Australia also started good but could not make it large. They got 50 runs at loss of 1 wicket in first 6 overs. Usman Khawaja is the highest score maker from Australia who made 38 of just 27 balls including 4 boundaries. Steven Smith (Captain of Australia) and David Warner could not able to make a 2-digit figure. Both made 6 runs each of 7 and 11 balls. Glenn Maxwell & Mitchell Marsh fight well made 22 and 24 runs respectively.

Australia only able to make 134 runs at loss of 9 wicket in 20 overs game. Mitchell Santner is the most expensive bowler who completed his own spell of 4 over. He gave out 30 runs away but took 2 wickets.
