VPN Gate Client Plug-in 9613.135609

VPN Gate Client Plug-in relies on SoftEther VPN client in order to conceal your IP address while you’re browsing online, thus facilitating access to services that are otherwise restricted in your area.

SoftEther VPN is a package that allows you to create a custom VPN topology, being constituted of a client-server technology. VPN Gate Client Plug-in is an add-in for the client side of SoftEther VPN that ensures online anonymity.

The plug-in comes wrapped up inside a package that also includes the SoftEther client, therefore you won’t be required to download it separately. Installation ends in a jiffy, allowing you to get acquainted with the program immediately.

The plug-in appears as a VPN connection inside the main window of SoftEther VPN; double-clicking it will open a new window where a list of VPN relay servers is displayed, allowing you to select the one you wish to connect to.

The list contains a variety of servers that are presented alongside IP address, region, uptime, line speed and so on. As a side note, it is recommended that you choose a VPN server closer to your region so that you don’t experience server downtimes.

Once you’ve chosen one and connected to it successfully, you will be able to enjoy a wide array of benefits, including the removal of area restrictions for services such as YouTube, Hulu, Netflix, etc.

You will get a state of invisibility, we might add, which means you can explore the web without being tracked and spied on.

However, most of the servers that VPN Gate Client Plug-in relies on are located in Korea and Japan and very few throughout the US and Europe, which restricts its audience significantly.

KchmViewer 7.6

Kchmviewer is a free, open-source CHM (aka MS HTML help) and EPUB viewer written in C++ for Unix, Mac and Windows systems. Unlike most existing CHM viewers for Unix, it uses Trolltech Qt widget library, and could optionally be compiled for better KDE integration. It does not require KDE, but may be compiled with KDE widget support. Since version 5.0 it uses the Webkit API to show the content.

The main advantage of kchmviewer is the best support for non-English languages. Unlike other viewers, kchmviewer in most cases is able to correctly detect the chm file encoding and show it. It correctly shows the index and table of context in Russian, Spanish, Romanian, Korean, Chinese and Arabic help files, and with new search engine is able to search in any chm file no matter what language it is written.

kchmviewer is written by George Yunaev, and is licensed under GNU General Public License version 3. It uses chmlib to handle the CHM files, and some ideas from xchm.

WinPatrol alerts you to hijackings, malware attacks and critical changes made to your computer without your permission. As a multipurpose support utility, WinPatrol replaces multiple system utilities with its enhanced functionality.

WinPatrol was the pioneer in using a heuristic behavioral approach to detecting attacks and violations of your computing environment. WinPatrol takes snapshots of your critical system resources and alerts you to any changes that occur without your knowledge.

You'll be removing dangerous new programs while others prepare to update their definition/signature data files. WinPatrol runs on Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8.x, Windows 10 & supports Windows 64-bit features without conflicts with other programs.

Adding WinPatrol to your arsenal of protection provides a layered security approach required when even legitimate programs try to install unwante…

Wine 1.9.24

Wine is an open source software that enables Linux, Mac, FreeBSD, and Solaris users to run Windows applications without a copy of Microsoft Windows. Wine is free software under constant development. Other platforms may benefit as well.

Wine makes it possible to take advantage of all the Unix strong points (stability, flexibility, remote administration) while still using the Windows applications you depend on. Unix has always made it possible to write powerful scripts. Wine makes it possible to call Windows applications from scripts that can also leverage the Unix environment to its full extent.

Wine makes it possible to access Windows applications remotely, even if they are a few thousand miles away. Wine makes it economical to use thin clients: simply install Wine on a Linux server, and voila, you can access these Windows applications from any X terminal. Wine can also be used to make existing Windows applications available on the Web by using VNC and its Java/HTML5 client.
